JAKARTA, Investor.id — The second day of the National Technology Summit 2025 reaffirmed Linknet’s strong commitment to strengthening Indonesia’s digital connectivity ecosystem. During the session, Linknet highlighted that the demand for fiber-based home internet continues to surge, driven by deeper digital adoption and the growing need for high-capacity, reliable household connectivity.

While most Indonesians still rely heavily on mobile networks, the need for fiber home broadband has grown significantly—especially outside major urban centers and the island of Java—showing that the market still holds substantial room for expansion.

Geographical Challenges Require a Collaborative Approach

Linknet’s Chief Technology and Network Officer, Erick Satya Arianto, explained that Indonesia’s digital infrastructure challenges go far beyond technology. The country’s complex geography—comprising thousands of islands—makes nationwide home-to-home connectivity difficult to achieve without strong partnerships.

“With 70% of Indonesia’s territory made up of ocean, no single company can build nationwide fixed broadband coverage alone. That is why we choose collaboration over competition,” Erick said on Thursday (6/11/2025).

Linknet is now positioning itself primarily as a wholesale infrastructure provider, opening its network for use by various Internet Service Providers (ISPs).
In this model, ISPs focus on product development, customer service, and market penetration in their respective regions.

“Each ISP understands its local market best. Our role is to deliver a robust, shared fiber network through an open-access model so broadband expansion can move faster and more evenly across Indonesia,” Erick added.

AI Technology Boosts Network Efficiency

Linknet has also integrated Artificial Intelligence (AI) into its network operations, supporting:

Erick emphasized that AI deployment is currently concentrated on internal operational efficiency, before being expanded into more advanced customer-facing innovations.

Summit Concludes with a Strong Message on Sustainable Connectivity

The National Technology Summit 2025 officially concluded yesterday after two days of cross-sector discussions on sustainable infrastructure development, inclusive digitalization, and technological synergy across industries.

The event, hosted in collaboration with the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII), marks Linknet’s continued commitment to strengthening the national digital ecosystem.

With the rising demand for fiber-based internet, Linknet’s collaborative model is expected to accelerate broadband expansion and empower regional ISPs to deliver better digital services to communities across Indonesia.
