Jakarta, FORTUNE — Linknet, in collaboration with the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII), held the National Technology Summit 2025, a strategic forum conducted on November 5–6 to discuss the direction of Indonesia’s digital ecosystem development.
Carrying the theme “We LINK The Nation for Sustainable Future,” the event brought together industry leaders, regulators, and associations to formulate concrete steps for strengthening national digital transformation.
Linknet’s President Director & CEO, Kanishka Gayan Wickrama, opened the event by emphasizing that this year’s theme reflects Linknet’s 25-year commitment to serving Indonesia.
“We organize the National Technology Summit 2025 as a collaborative platform for all partners within one ecosystem, enabling us to achieve our shared goals,”
said Kanishka in his opening remarks (November 5).
APJII reported that Indonesia’s internet penetration rate reached 80.66% in 2025, an increase of around 1.2 points from the previous year. In addition, there are 1,406 Internet Service Providers (ISPs) operating across the country.
APJII Chairman Muhammad Arif highlighted that collaboration among internet service providers is increasingly essential to deliver more stable network quality and broader coverage for communities nationwide.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Nezar Patria, encouraged the adoption of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) in the telecommunications sector. According to him, AI implementation can help reduce operational costs, which currently account for up to 65% of the sector’s revenue.

These initiatives expand Linknet’s collaboration network across infrastructure services, network security, entertainment content, and sustainability programs.
The second day of the summit featured discussions on digital business model development, sustainable infrastructure, and equitable internet access.
Thomas Lahey, Executive VP of IT at Bank BCA, stated that strong connectivity is crucial for digital banking services. He noted that 90% of BCA transactions are now completed through digital channels, increasing the need for fast and stable internet.
Linknet’s Chief Technology and Network Officer, Eric Satya Arianto, added that network expansion cannot be achieved by a single party. He invited ISPs across Indonesia to collaborate in strengthening national connectivity.
“We hope the National Technology Summit 2025 becomes a collaborative space where we combine our strengths to achieve a greater purpose for the nation,”
he said.
The event concluded with a Gala Dinner and an awards ceremony to recognize institutions contributing to the development of Indonesia’s national digital ecosystem.
